Day 1

Lima

Day 2

Culinary Tour – City Tour Colonial & Modern Lima

Discover the secrets of Peruvian cuisine. This gastronomic adventure starts in a typical Peruvian market where a large variety of local products are displayed and sold as the selected ingredients of the most delicious Peruvian dishes and desserts; enjoy some unique fruits like cherimoya, lucuma, aguaymanto and the pacae get surprised by the wide variety of seafood, considered one of the world´s richest. Afterward visiting an exclusive Peruvian restaurant, where you can prepare your own Pisco Sour and the famous Ceviche (a well-known dish prepared with fish marinated in lemon juice and seasoned with local herbs and spices). This will be followed by a delicious lunch that will include the most representative dishes of Peruvian cuisine. In the afternoon, visit the most important sites of Lima and wrap yourself in its charm and tradition. Visit the impressive historical center and go through by the Main Square, The Government Palace, City Hall, The Archbishop’s Palace and the Cathedral. You will visit the most representative Convent in Lima that displays the largest monumental group of Colonial Art found in America, here you will see and explore the architectual set of religious buildings. Finally, take a tour through the financial and residential San Isidro district and enjoy an excellent view of the Pacific Ocean from Miraflores, the most touristic district of our city, return to the hotel. Day 3

Lima/Arequipa – City Tour & Santa Catalina Convent

At the arranged time transfer from your hotel in Lima to the airport for your flight to Arequipa. At your arrival assistance, and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, be captivated by the beautiful “Ciudad Blanca de Arequipa” (White City of Arequipa) name given due to the volcanic ashlars stones used in its structure. Admire the Main Square, the Cathedral, make a stop at the viewing platforms of Carmen Alto and Yanahuara to get a great photo of the city, finally visit Saint Catalina Convent built in the 16th century with its 215,000-sq. ft. of monastery cloister, nun´s cell, convents, and volcanic stone fountains surrounded by gardens and narrow alleys. Day 4

Arequipa/Colca Valley

Gaze the wonderful mountain scenery and see the majestic flight of the condor in the Colca Canyon, considered the deepest canyon in the world. Early in the morning, you will leave Arequipa via Yura along the Chachani mountain skirts, Pampa de Arrieros, Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve where you will see some vicuñas. We will continue to Vizcachani and Pampas de Toccra, home to a large variety of birds. Once in Chivay recover your energy with a delicious lunch and then enjoy the afternoon on your own. As a suggested activity, we recommend a visit to La Calera hot water Springs, known for its natural medicinal properties. (Activity not included, please ask for rates). Overnight in Colca Valley. Day 5

Colca Valley/Puno

Appreciate a beautiful Andean sunrise along the Colca Canyon towards the path that leads to Cruz del Condor (Condor´s Cross), a place offering the most spectacular landscapes of the entire canyon, here you can see the elegant flight of these huge birds whose wings extend up to 3 meters; admire its majestic flight and get an excellent view of the Colca Canyon, a unique opportunity to take great pictures. You will return to Chivay for lunch (not included) and finally take the bus to Puno. At your arrival assistance, and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in Puno. Meals: Breakfast

Day 6

Puno/Titicaca Lake/Puno

Sail the waters of Lake Titicaca. Early in the morning, you will start an excursion to the highest lake in the world (12,500 feet). The tour includes a visit to Uros Island where you can go by comfortable motor boats. Uros is part of Aymara ethnic family of islands that live on artificial islands made of Totora (floating reed). From here you can reach Taquile Island, gifted with several hills and harboring archaeological sites, the island’s main activity are textiles (manual work of art) representing scenes of everyday life. You will have lunch at a nearby local place. Transfer back to Puno city. Accommodation in Puno. Meals: Breakfast and lunch.

Day 7

Puno/Cusco – The Route Of The Sun

Embark on a comfortable tour bus and go through beautiful Andean landscapes up to the city of Cusco. On the way, you will see several touristic attractions such as Pukara, the first stop in route to Cuzco. In Pukara you can take a guided tour of the Museum that holds the remains of many archeological figures of Andean times. We will also go through La Raya, the highest point in the entire tour (14,223 ft.). Here you can enjoy few minutes to admire the landscape and take some amazing photos before continuing. The bus will stop for lunch at Sicuani village, where you will then continue the tour to the archeological center of Raqch’i, an enormous building made in honor of Wiracocha God, finally, you´ll arrive at Saint Peter Church of Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Day 8

Cusco – City Tour & Archaeological Park

Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, admire the wonderful pre-Hispanic and colonial legacy of Cusco city, an interesting journey where you will learn about Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), ancient place of worship to the Sun, God of the Incas where the convent of Santo Domingo was built, gaze the beauty of Cusco city´s Main Square and admire the most representative sculptures and paintings of Cusco´s Art inside the cathedral. Touring the city suburbs, we will visit the Inca complexes of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara and the impressive Sacsayhuaman Fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its external walls built with huge stones cut and assembled with stunning precision. Day 9

Cusco/Mollepata/Soraypampa (7 Hrs)

Take an unforgettable journey through the most inhospitable and amazing path of the Andes, route: Salkantay, Llactapata and Machu Picchu, a fantastic hike that will take you through the most beautiful Andean scenery, with high mountains and majestic snow falls as the preview to this magnificent background route to Machu Picchu, a true Wonder of the World. The adventure begins leaving Cusco city heading in tourist transportation to Mollepata (3000 masl), Starting point of the hike where we arrive in approximately 4 hours; Once we arrive at Mollepata our hike begins, we go through the picturesque valleys of Humantay (5217 masl) and Salkantay (6264 masl) decorated with white snow, shortly after we begin ascending to our first campsite in Soraypampa, known for its cold climate, here we spend the night. Overnight at the Campsite. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 10

Soraypampa/Paso Salkantay/Challway (9 Hrs)

In the morning we continue our tour, walking through the Andean highlands until we reach the highest point of our tour, El Paso de Salkantay (The walk of Salkantay) at 4600 m.a.s.l., then we begin to descend to our next campsite called Challway (3000 masl), in our travels we will walk through tropical lush and humid forests where we can observe the amazing biodiversity of this area. Overnight at the Campsite. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 11

Challway/Wiñaypoco/Lucmabamba (6 Hrs)

We continue our hike through the tropical, whimsical and cloudy forest to the lowest part of our tour. Take note that throughout the day the heat will be our constant companion as well as the uncomfortable mosquitos typical of this area, however, all this will be compensated by experiencing the tranquility of this place decorated with beautiful orchids, and bromeliads etc. We go through the town of Wiñaypoco (2650 masl) and arrive at the beach (2100 masl) where we will spend a cold night typical of this area. Overnight at the Campsite. Meals: Breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 12

Lucmabamba/Llactapata/Aguas Calientes (6 Hrs)

On this day the vegetation, the mosquitos, and the heat remain our constant companions in this tour. We will walk until we reach the Archeological complex of Llactapata (2650 masl), from where it is possible to see the mystical Machu Picchu mountain, after we continue to descend to the depths of the valley, to the shore of the Urubamba river, until we reach Hidroelectrica (1950 masl), here we board the train in route to Aguas Calientes (250 masl). Day 13

Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu/Cusco

Enjoy one of the most fascinating and extraordinary experiences of the world: Machu Picchu. You will take the bus for a 30-minute drive along a zigzagging path leading to the marvelous citadel. Machu Picchu may have been home to Pachacutec, first Inca emperor. Walk through go passageways and alleys of the Citadel enjoy and take in this unique place in the world. Return to Aguas Calientes to take your train back to Cusco. Accommodation in Cusco. Meals: Breakfast

Cusco/Lima
